In Make Believe: A Poem

Sometimes I give permission to dream
Wild and fierce dreams
Caught up in the narration of
Unrequited love.

Dwelling so hard on thought
It turns into pure fantasy
Unknown to reality
So far out of possibility.

Toy with writing it down
This story, imagination’s attempt
For a second chance
Another time and place.

Saying everything and nothing
Exhaling,
I would mean something to you
A past time, my little world.

You are not a reality
We make beautiful fiction
A story can inspire
All in make believe.
